Affinity assigns each property an occupancy state based on its Max Tenancies setting and the number of current or upcoming tenancies recorded against it.
Setting the maximum number of tenancies
- Open Properties → List Properties and select the required property.
- Select the Property tab.
- Select Property Details from the secondary navigation.
- Select Edit Details.
- Set Max Tenancies to the maximum number of simultaneous tenancies the property can accommodate.
- Save the property.
For most properties, Max Tenancies will be set to one.
Occupancy states
A property can have one of the following states:
- Vacant — the property has no current or upcoming tenancies.
- Vacancy — the property has at least one tenancy, but the number of tenancies is lower than its Max Tenancies value. This means the property is only partially occupied.
- Occupied — the number of tenancies is equal to or greater than the property's Max Tenancies value.
The current state is displayed in the property header and on the property list. Affinity updates it automatically as tenancies are added, started or ended.
