Funding charges record the amounts due under a Property and Acquisition (P&A) funding arrangement. Charges may be generated automatically from a funding schedule or added manually when required.
Open Funding Charges
- Open Properties → List Properties and select the required property.
- Select the Funding tab.
Charges are shown below the Funding Schedules section. A funding schedule must exist before a charge can be added.
Automatic funding charges
Affinity creates charges automatically from an active funding schedule using its next charge date, frequency, value and description. Each generated charge is linked to the schedule that created it.
Add a funding charge manually
- Select Add Charge.
- Select the relevant Funding Schedule.
- Enter the Charge Date and Charge Value.
- Add an optional description.
- Select Add Charge to save it.
Review payment progress
The Charges list shows the value of each charge and the amount received against it. The indicator identifies whether:
- the charge has been paid in full;
- a partial payment has been received; or
- no payment has been received.
The payment received value is updated when a Local Authority transaction is recorded and allocated to the charge. It is not edited directly on the funding charge.
Record a Local Authority payment
- Open Bank → Local Authority Transactions.
- Select the Local Authority.
- Enter the transaction details.
- Allocate the payment across the outstanding funding charges shown.
- Submit the transaction.
A single transaction can be allocated across more than one outstanding charge where appropriate.
View or manage a charge
Select a charge to view its funding schedule, charge date, value, payment received and description. Use Options to edit or delete the charge. The available actions depend on your permissions.
Reporting and exports
Funding charges and Local Authority transactions are included in the relevant Local Authority statements and bank reports. Funding charge information can also be included in an administrative data export.
