Affinity allows you to restrict access to your account so that users can only log in from approved IP addresses. This provides an additional layer of security by preventing access from unknown locations.
Adding an IP Restriction
- Navigate to Admin > Settings > IP Restrictions.
- Click Add IP.
- Enter the public IPv4 or IPv6 address you wish to allow.
- Enter a meaningful Comment (for example, Head Office, Remote Office, or John Smith Home Office).
- Click Add.
Affinity displays your current public IP address on this screen to help you easily add your current location.
Important Notes
- Once one or more IP restrictions have been added, users will only be able to log in from the approved IP addresses.
- Ensure that you add all required office and remote working locations before enabling restrictions.
- If your organisation uses internet connections with dynamic IP addresses, the allowed IP addresses may change over time and require updating.
- It is recommended that at least one Manager user retains unrestricted access or has an alternative approved location configured to avoid being locked out.
Warning: If you restrict access to an IP address and later lose access to that location, you may need to contact Affinity Support for assistance regaining access.
